Early February, Cvent and URMC announced an extension in their current partnership to help 15,000 front line health workers get the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine as quickly as possible.

Since 2010, URMC has been using Cvent solutions and is now leveraging it further by using multiple Cvent products to ensure the safe and efficient distribution of the Pfizer vaccine.

In just the first 7 days of using the Cvent event management platform, URMC was able to launch a new URMC branded website with custom reporting tools, access portals and a registration platform that allowed them to control the number of individuals who will be vaccinated at any given time.

Once onsite, the URMC team will use the Cvent touchless ‘OnArrival’ product to safely check in health workers.

Stephanie Von Bacho, Sr Director for learning at the University of Rochester Medical Center commentated “In order to vaccinate thousands of employees in a safe way, we utilized Cvent technology to register our people and confirm their participation in a secure, centralized location, with minimal interactions”, she continued “By leveraging technology, we spend less time organizing and planning registration, and more time focused on the task at hand – which is getting our employees vaccinated”.

Cvent is a meetings, events and hospitality technology provider. Using their technology to administer a vaccination registration program with on site people management is a new and creative way of using their platform.

“We’re extremely proud to support the University of Rochester Medical Center and their efforts to vaccinate the true heroes of 2020 – our frontline health workers,” said Patrick Smith, chief marketing office at Cvent. “Throughout this pandemic, we have seen our event technology being leveraged in new and creative ways, and we applaud the URMC team for recognizing the opportunity for technology to help make large-scale vaccination efforts safe and efficient. To know that our technology is helping to ensure their safety is truly an honor.”
